Les Paul Custom Main Features
Mahogany body in gloss finish
Mahogany neck with SlimTaper profile, ebony fretboard
ProBucker 2 (neck), ProBucker 3 (bridge) humbuckers with dual volume and tone controls
LockTone ABR bridge, stopbar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic tuners
Mahogany has a warm, mellow tone, and it has been a Gibson mainstay since the very first Les Paul. Epiphone outfitted the Les Paul Custom with a mahogany body finished in gloss.
Epiphone paired the mahogany body with a mahogany neck, featuring a SlimTaper profile. The ebony fretboard has a 12" radius and 22 medium jumbo frets. The headstock on the Custom has a redesigned shape with a custom-style inlay.
Epiphone’s ProBuckers sound so close to vintage PAFS that even experts can’t always tell them apart. They are made with 18% nickel silver bases and covers, the same specs Gibson employed back in the early days. Transparent and crisp, ProBuckers use lower-output Alnico II magnets for a warmer, more creamy sound.
The Custom uses traditional hardware, but finishes all of it—stopbar tailpiece, tune-o-matic bridge, Grover tuners—in gold. The Grovers have an 18:1 ratio for precise, dialed-in tuning.
Additional features of the Epiphone Les Paul Custom include black speed knobs, CTS electronics, Graph Tech nut and pearloid block inlays.
